The Local Vine offers a comfortable place to enjoy wine, food and friends. Serving more than 100 wines by the glass along with a selection of small plates for sharing and free wi-fi, guests can learn about and enjoy wine in a relaxing environment.

The Local Outlook

Our aspirations are nothing if not high. We seek to convey the highest levels of knowledge with regard to wine and winemaking, but without the air of exclusivity that so often afflicts the industry. Call us crazy, but we think it's doable.

The Local Vine is a solution to the chaotic cocktail bar or formal restaurant — it’s a place where you can hang out the way you would in a coffee shop while learning about or just enjoying wine. Linger near a fireplace, or with your laptop using free Wi-Fi, while sipping wine and dining on small plates of food that pair with it.

We're open seven days a week from 2pm - 2am.

The wine list, consisting of over 100 wines by the glass, showcases wines from the Pacific Northwest and California but also integrates wines from around the world. Selections range from $5 to $485 a glass, offering a selection of value wines and hard to find selections from smaller wineries, as well as highly rated wines like Screaming Eagle, Quilceda Creek, Leonetti, Cayuse and other international superstars.

Private wine tastings, events and receptions can be arranged for groups. Seating is flexible and we can accommodate parties as small as 8 or as large as 100+. For more information, contact events@thelocalvine.com for reservations and additional information.

About Our Wine

Soil. Climate. People. Culture. All of these contribute to the way a wine looks, tastes, and feels. You'll experience it here in the Northwest, among the many beautiful wines we are proud to serve. But you'll also see it in our other selections — as we seek to celebrate small, regional winemakers from around the world. People whose wines tell a story...embody a place...speak a language.

Thus the word "terroir" (pronounced tehr-war) — a French term that simply means each wine is bestowed with the special characteristics of its geography. This is an important principle for us. Through it, we see that wine becomes more than a beverage, but rather a way to stay connected — to each other and to the environment.

About Our Food

As for our food, we keep it close to home, too. Local. Sustainable. Organic. Flavorful. That’s what we offer in our selection of meat, dairy, produce, flours, and sugars. In essence, small plates that are approachable, communal, and wine-focused. Foods that change based on the season, offering you something new and interesting every time you come!

PR Newswire - Press Release
Whistle While You Wine at The Local Vine

SEATTLE, July 28 /PRNewswire/ -- The Local Vine (TLV), a wine bar in Seattle's Belltown neighborhood, extends their wine education offerings to target groups, business executives and companies. Hosted by certified wine expert and co-owner, Sarah Munson, TLV offers 'Wine 101' and Sommelier Tastings for guests to learn about wine.

"We are excited to extend TLV's education program to groups that are looking for fun, interactive ways to spend time together," said Munson. "Our non-intimidating environment and celebrated wine list presents the perfect excuse to learn about and enjoy wine."

TLV's extremely popular 'Wine 101' class features wine basics, evaluations, tastings and selections. Participants taste and discuss at least six different wines. Operating as a no-pressure class, Sommelier Tastings feature an opportunity to learn about a particular varietal, region or style of wine with a sommelier. Each class provides educational materials for "students" to continue their learning.

"Our wine classes have been well received by the community," said Allison Nelson, co-owner. "These classes provide the perfect platform for team building experiences, as participants collectively discover and develop their palate for wine."

In addition to regularly scheduled classes, TLV offers private wine tastings for groups, parties and events where guests develop a tasting of their choosing or select from a list of popular choices. With wine experts as guides, tastings feature the basics about wine, how to choose wines from wine lists and tutorials on some of the most prestigious wines. Some of the most popular tastings include: Washington Wines & Wineries, J'Adore Le Vin French Wine, and Taste Pinots with a Sommelier.
